Lost Half A Stone!

Due to health reasons, not being able to walk much & underactive thyroid I found I kept putting on weight. Being sore all the time exercising was too much for me but with a slightly expanded food range I managed to lose half a stone in a few weeks which I am really impressed with. Also cutting down snack food would have helped too!

I was 15 stone, which for a women with the height of 5'3, is overweight according to some people. Some consultants even think my weight was the cause of my pain, however I'm convinced otherwise since I walk on my toes and my full body isn't shaped the way it should be and I've suffered with off and on pains since I was a child.. So I'm hoping to get down to a size 12 again just to prove my point that my weight isn't the problem plus I'm sure I'd be more comfortable with myself then too.

Although I do have to say, it was a bit of a shock seeing I was 15 stone. But I do believe that gave me the push of determination I needed to try to lose weight and I did it without going on a "diet". Instead I did a tesco shop and bought a full shop with over 50 foods/drinks, most of which I had never tried before. I told myself, if i eat more decent foods I won't want as many snacks and if I have new foods to try, I would be curious to try them often rather than snacking on junk food.

So far so good.
Hopefully my method keeps working.

I Made *Yummy Scented* Cupcake Wax Melts!

My second attempt at making wax melts was a success!

I have many scents to choose from but I chose to make Cupcake Scented Wax Melts. Although at the moment, I wish I didn't. Why? Because I currently have on my wax melt burner & the scent in my bedroom is that heavenly my belly is growling! YUMMY!

Although.. It seems I'm not the only one who approves of the scent.

I want in this bag.....

But they smell so good...

Both cats, Spyro & Blaze, started sniffing all over my room when I started burning one of these and both started meowing like beggars! Probably thinking I had a cupcake... Mum had to give them some treats to shut them up as they wouldn't stop meowing.
POOR KITTYS!

I've never actually used this candle burner before, but now that I've made wax melts I got the chance to use it.

I just bought ASDA's plain tealights for when using wax melts. £2 for 100 tealights which is pretty good.

I used a lilac mica powder when making the wax melts. It was quite glittery looking when melting but looked nice & smelt lovely.

I hope my next batch of homemade wax melts smell just as good!

First Attempt At Wax Melts... Fail!

Well I made my first batch of wax melts using 150g wax, turned out a bit of a fail once I added my liquid colouring as it didn't mix at all! So next time I will definitely be using my mica powder.

I wont add photos, due to it being an embarrassment haha!! But I'm hoping 2nd try lucky they'll turn out really good and I can show people that read my blog.

However, I'm also hoping these ones previously made still burn well.. Would be a shame otherwise.

I guess not everyone is lucky on a 1st attempt!

Getting Ready To Make Cakes!

I'm hoping I'll be able to do what I can't do just now when my Bar Stool arrives.. Which is make craft stuff in the kitchen and start making cakes again! I did a year of cooking & bakery in college before my back got really bad and I could no longer walk much or stand much at all without support. I really miss doing it!

Despite being in constant pain and struggling to move about much I want to try again with the help of a bar stool in the kitchen.

I've purchased quite a selection of fondant cutters and tools from ebay from china / hong kong but I don't mind the wait as I am going to be trying to make wax tarts before I start getting into cooking again & I want to look for more recipes too for vegetarian meals and other stuff. I wont just be making cakes, but I'm very excited about making them again.

I'll also be buying some supplies from my Sainsbury's online shop when I do one. I don't need to do one just yet but when I do I will be getting all the bits I need for battenburg & possibly get my mum to get some of the ingredients when she does her ASDA shop. (I pay for it ofcourse)

I'll be sure to show you some of the supplies I get as they start to arrive :D

Hopefully I find some good easy recipes online to start off with.

Excited Waiting On Things To Arrive.

It may not seem like much to some people, but for me, it is something to look forward to. Since I spend almost every day in my house due to health issues and struggling to walk, I enjoy making new things to pass time. I have decided I wanted to try to make wax melts, but I cant stand in the kitchen long enough to do so.. So i bought myself a bar stool which would be ideal to help me do my craft work in the kitchen whilst sitting down. Hopefully I may be able to try cooking again with a bar stool handy since I've not been able to do so for a very long time since I cannot stand long.

As well as a bar stool, I bought 2kilo of soy wax, thermometer, wooden stirrers, syringes for some of my essential oils and I also got 4 50ml glass bottles as I plan to make some bath oils too as they are also simple to make.

Hopefully with the bar stool handy I can make my other toiletry stuff in the kitchen as well rather than sitting on the living room floor all the time as my legs go in a cramp!

I'll be sure to post pictures of how things turn out.

Gift For Mum - Supernatural Theme!

I have a habit of buying my mum random gifts often. She deserves it though!

This time, I spotted a Supernatural theme t-shirt & my mum really likes the Tv Series so I couldn't resist and had to buy it for her. She loves it! Shes a size 12 but prefers a little space with her t-shirts so I got her a Medium. They are mens t-shirts but my mum and I don't bother about that.

It isn't an official t-shirt but still a good t-shirt.

It was only £8.95 free postage & if you watch Supernatural you will understand it!

I thought it was really funny & the t-shirt its printed on is a gildan t-shirt which is a decent quality t-shirt. I already have a few gildan t-shirts of my own but just plain black.

This is where I bought this t-shirt :

My Cute New Tealight Holder

After having my eye on a tealight holder for quite some time, I decided to finally buy it.

Previously I was only using a basic and boring round tealight holder.

Since I bought it, I've constantly had tealights in it. Not only that but my cats seem to be mesmerized by it haha. Spyro, one of my cats, falls asleep watching it and the other Blaze just comes in and stares at it and the light pattern it makes on my wall as the birds spin round.

It comes in 3 separate parts and you have to put it together but it is very simple to do. Although the box it comes in gives you instructions as well just in case you are unsure. It is very delicate though so I had to be very careful when putting it together not to bend anything.

When a candle is in place and the holder is balanced properly, the top part spins round in circles slowly as it is a Carousel Candle Holder. Viva! have 4 types of this candle holder. The others are Farm, Horse and also Love & Peace.

About Viva!
Viva! is a vegetarian organisation.

For more information here is the website:

Also for anyone interested in browsing their shop here is the link to the shop:

They have lots of lovely things in their shop, I only bought 4 items this time one being this candle holder and the others were 2 Viva! Recycled Notepads & Vegan White Chocolate Spread... But I most likely will buy more in the future!
